Where to stay in Langkawi

How To, Week Long Trips

Langkawi is one of the beautiful islands of Malaysia. Its also one of the most family favourite destinations in Southeast Asia. I really enjoyed my trip to Langkawi with my family. My kids loved the beaches and fun water activities. It was an awesome experience. So as a family I would like to share that how you should plan your trip when you visit Langkawi along with your kids.

Where To Stay:

You can find plenty of options for accommodations in Langkawi. It also depends on your budget. whether, you can afford to stay at a high end luxury resort or feel comfortable along a bustling downtown area.

Luxury Resorts In Langkawi:

There are a number of luxury resorts in Langkawi but I can discuss the most famous ones.

Langkawi Beach Resort is set on the gorgeous Datai Bay, a beautiful Langkawi beach that was named by National Geographic as one of the top 10 beaches in the world. You can find all the water sports right on the resort and you need not to go any where as the resort has their own private beach. The resort itself needs to be explored and will keep you occupied for about 2 days. They have all sorts of activities separately for adults and kids.

Four Seasons Resort Langkawi; Also boasts a private beach front with all the amenities of a 5 star resort. its at the Tanjung Rhu beach. One of the best beach hotels in Langkawi with something for everyone.

The Andaman Hotel Langkawi; The best hotel in Langkawi for nature-loving families. The venue is 6 km away from Seven Wells. The hotel allows quick access to coconut trees and a lagoon. Andaman Hotel also has cribs, babysitting and a game room for guests travelling with children. Mountain biking, windsurfing and volleyball are provided on site. The Andaman has the reputation as one of the top hotels in Langkawi for families, thanks to its fabulous pool with slide and shallow areas, and fun kids club with a comprehensive schedule of activities.

Ritz Carlton Langkawi; The best resort in Langkawi for an amazing kids club. This enormous state-of-the-art kids club has separate areas for toddlers and teens, its own swimming pool and loads of space for running around. A full programme of activities includes nature walks and treasure hunts.

The Danna Langkawi; Best known for their friendly service. Its located at Telega Harbour Park. This ideal location lets you find all the local restaurants very easily around the area. It is just a 15-minute drive from the airport and also close to Langkawi tourist attractions such as the Oriental Village and the SkyCar.

The Westin Langkawi; For long time Westin has been the most favourite resorts for families. There are four swimming pools at this Langkawi resort Malaysia, including a large kids pool, an infinity pool with swim-up bar and a rock pool featuring fountains and waterfalls. There is also a kids club for kids aged 4-12, so you can drop the kids and head to the Heavenly Spa.

Meritus Pelangi Beach Resort Langkawi; Termed as the best family hotel very near to the Langkawi Airport. The family rooms come with 1 x King bed, 1 x single bed, plus a convertible day bed, making this another reason this is a good choice as the best resort in Langkawi for family holidays. There are two restaurants within the resort, but this really is one of the best beach hotels in Langkawi for families who like to eat out in local restaurants as there is a whole street just a few minutes walk away with a huge choice of bars, cafes and restaurants.

The Inexpensive and Best Value Hotels / Accommodations in Langkawi:

the two sites the populated Pantai Cenang and the main beach areas of Pantai Tengah remain the target base camp. Pantai Tengah has the more laid back feel of the Langkawi of yesteryear, while Pantai Cenang continues to get ever busier. These areas also house many budget friendly hotels, apartments and resorts.

The Sunset Beach Resort; This is best affordable beach front resort in Pantai Cenang. It offers simple brick seaside cottages tucked amid lush tropical foliage. A beautiful, simple but peaceful beach front property where you would love to stay in. Built in a traditional Malay style architecture. It is a 3 star hotel but really comes up to your expectations.

Nadias Hotel Cenang Langkawi; This humble hotel is located on the Pantai Cenang. About an minute walk from the Pantai Cenang Beach. You can access the beach very easily and get to do all the water activities available on the beach offered by the local operators. You can get good prices by bargaining too.

Cenang Plaza Beach Hotel; It is located along the white sandy stretch of Cenang beach. Its a modest hotel which doesn’t offer dine in facility.  The rooms are clean, tidy and well sized. The Cenang Mall is at a walking distance and you can reach all the restaurants, cafe and local food stalls very easily.

Island Time Motel:  Situated in Kuah, this motel is not only cheap but also good  for general convenience. This office building turned motel offers clean rooms with ensuite baths and 24-hour front desk staff and is just a short walk to the ferry terminal, as well as plenty of cheap eats.

Zackry’s Guest House:  You can find this guest house in Pentai Tengah. Its a humble but nice property. Its an old guest house but still doing pretty well. Though it may not have a whole lot of amenities, but they do have clean and basic budget lodging.
