Kuala Lumpur has a variety of shopping malls. I am sharing a few of the malls which are my favorite as they are kids friendly. These malls offer different kinds of entertaining activities for kids of all ages. Along with shopping your kids will have a good time here.
1. Suria KLCC:
Suria KLCC is one of Malaysia’s high-end shopping malls. It has all the premium brands outlets as well as a few of the popular local brands’ shops. It provides strollers for kids on rent, you can get them easily from its reception desk. Its food court has a variety of fast food and local food options. Kids can have something of their liking easily. A huge park famously known as the KLCC Park sprawls at one side of the mall. The park has an amazing play area that kids of all ages can enjoy. It has a good variety of swings, monkey bars, long and short slides, etc. There is a nice swimming pool for kids to enjoy and cool themselves. You can also enjoy the colorful dancing fountain show. Aquaria KLCC is also connected to the Suria Vie tunnel and can be accessed very easily. Petrosains, The Discovery Centre is also located on the 4th floor of this mall. It’s Malaysia’s Science and technology museum. A must-visit place for kids. Timings of the museum are 9:30 to 5:30
2. Avenue K:
Located at the center of KLCC and connected with Suria through a tunnel. It has a newly opened branch of Super Park Malaysia a very spacious indoor park for kids. Kids of all ages can enjoy this place. There are also many food options available in this mall. You can also get strollers for kids from the reception counter. On special occasions like, Christmas and new year, they arrange playful activities for kids.
4. Berjaya Times Square:
MyTown shopping mall is quite a new mall in the city. It’s connected to IKEA. Parents can leave their kids at IKEA’s kids’ play center. There are little play areas set up at different levels so that parents with kids won’t get too bored while mummy and daddy are shopping.
There is a very lovely and cute indoor soft play park called Molly Fantasy. This popular arcade contains kiddy rides that include the Merry-Go-Round as well as a wide array of amusement machines suitable for parents and children of all ages. You can also arrange a birthday party for your beloved daughter or son here. MyTown also houses another indoor park and gym The Parenthood. Based on Mytown’s second level, Weaning Tots is a unique child-friendly cafe that includes a fully equipped indoor playground. Its expansive interior contains fun toys for kids, including a ball pool and a giant slide. They also have a reading corner and modeling clay for kids who prefer quiet playtimes. The calm, relaxing setting makes Weaning Tots an excellent place to bring your kids for meals or even meet up with friends for playdates. Another kids’ fun place in MyTown is Good Times DIY & Lifestyle Cafe. It is a family-friendly hangout with a unique idea: Instead of buying overpriced cakes or pastries from a high-class bakery, you can bring your whole family over to their spacious kitchen and get baking together! Good Times provides you with the space, ingredients, equipment, and the perfect environment to create your own culinary masterpieces. There are no reservations needed, so just come along and get your aprons on! Once you’re done for the day, Good Times even helps you to pack up your creations so that you can enjoy them at home.
5. Bangsar Shopping Centre:
It’s a nice shopping mall with a variety of local and continental food options. For kids, it has a very reasonable-sized roller skating rink, Roller Sports World. Suitable for toddlers aged below 2 and for ages 2 – 12, created to international safety standards. Great activity for kids. Older kids who know skating perfectly can entertain themselves at the in-line skating rink where they can rollerblade, or learn how to if they do not know. You can also take up the one-to-one coaching session for a minimal fee. Another attraction for kids in the Bangsar shopping mall is the Jungle Gym. It is a nice place for kids aged 2 to 12. Kids can have free play and learn in a fun way. It’s a jungle-themed indoor playpark. The entire play area is decorated with faux vines, animal murals, and hanging stuffed monkeys. Featuring the usual equipment like slides and ball pools. More interestingly, there are also rope swings and trampolines. The young one will definitely have a good time here.
It’s a huge shopping complex and entertainment spot in Kuala Lumpur. On its 5 and 7 levels is located Malaysia’s biggest indoor theme park. Berjaya Times Square Theme Park offers a number of attractions for all age groups of kids and adults. One of the thrilling attractions is the gigantic roller coaster ride that rolls over the mall ceiling. There are many food corners and food courts at different levels. There are many gifts and toy shops. They also have gift-playing machines at level 5 named Catch&Go and Mr. Grab.
6. 1 Utama Shopping Mall:
The world’s 7th largest shopping mall, 1 Utama offers a great shopping and entertainment experience. It is like a shopping and entertainment city, with never-ending arrays of shops and floors all laden with quality merchandise from local and international brands. The mall offers a number of activities for both kids and adults.
Its signature Rainforest is a lush tropical paradise created within the mall. A popular tourist attraction is the Secret Garden, an elaborate showcase of 500 species of exotic flora. It is South East Asia’s largest rooftop garden. The mall is so huge that it is segregated into different zones.
They have a variety of kids’ entertainment. Starship Galactica is a space-themed indoor soft play park. children up to 12 years of age can play happily with our wide range of play equipment, Starship Galactica has an array of games and obstacles, ball pits, climbing tumbles, jumping tracks, and much more to ensure that your child always has plenty to do.
AirRider is Asia Pacific’s first-in-mall indoor-skydiving facility. They use advanced wind tunnel technology to give you an authentic skydiving experience without having to jump out of a plane. Their secured all-glass paneled circular wind tunnel lifts you up with winds flowing at up to 250km/h – perfect for those who are keen on picking up some high-flying tricks quickly.
FlowRider: The first-ever FlowRider to be installed in a Malaysian shopping center, this amazing attraction uses a device to create artificial waves for sports such as flow-boarding, bodyboarding, and surfing. It’s an ideal place for kids, teenagers, and family members of all ages.

It’s A Hit: Voted as KL’s best entertainment Sports complex for 9 years in a row, It’s a Hit! has got plenty of activities to keep you and your family entertained. Camp5 Climbing Gym:
Camp5 Climbing Gym is a fully air-conditioned indoor climbing center. With walls up to 24 meters high, this climbing center is sure to wow you with its amazing 270-degree panoramic city views. This massive climbing center has walls suitable for beginners and experts alike along with a well-trained staff of experienced trainers. Adult members are allowed to bring in their children – in fact, children under 8 can climb for free! However, note that children under the age of 15 need to be accompanied by an adult at all times.
U Bowl 1Utama:
U Bowl 1 Utama is a 36-lane bowling alley that offers hours of fun for the whole family. You can ask the staff to set up the bowling bumpers in your alley – allowing your kids to play without worrying about getting their balls in the gutter. It’s the perfect feature to help younger kids and beginners to get used to bowling.
